September/October issue of TCE - out now!

Article by Staff Writer

A new format for The Chemical Engineer magazine has been introduced for the title’s September/October 2026 edition.

Tasked with bringing the sector’s practitioners into a brighter spotlight, the magazine now includes profiles of the people making waves across the field. Sustainable fashion specialist Aida Rafat sat down with TCE reporter Aniqah Majid for the first such interview.

Elsewhere, young chemical engineers Apanpreet Kaur and James Millard takes us behind the scenes in the worlds of RNA therapeutics and bioresources, while we report from this year’s IChemE Young Engineers Awards.

Features focus on the concept of self-healing concrete, the chemical engineering going into flood resilience projects, the issue of ageing plant and its potential impact on process safety, and the 200th anniversary of photography. Finally, on AI, we ask: should we ‘treat algorithms like interns’?
