THE BOARD of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) has approved eight IChemE training courses for continuing professional development (CPD) hours.
The approval signifies the following IChemE training courses are recognised by BEM for fulfilling the mandatory CPD requirements for registered engineers in Malaysia:
Professionally registered engineers in Malaysia are required to fulfil CPD requirements to maintain their registration with BEM. The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) has been appointed by BEM as the certified body to implement CPD programmes in accordance with BEM’s policies and guidelines. This follows the signing of a partnership agreement with the IEM in 2023.IChemE Malaysia country manager Tharshinye Soomaran said: “This recognition by BEM marks an important milestone in IChemE’s efforts to support the professional growth of engineers in Malaysia. We are committed to delivering high-quality training that not only aligns with local professional standards but also bridges global best practices, giving engineers in Malaysia access to the best of both worlds.”
IChemE course content undergoes regular peer review with the goal of reflecting current thinking and good practice. All courses are offered face-to-face and online and IChemE members get reduced registration fees. All courses can also be delivered as in-company training where content can be customised.
