IChemE launches new online mentor matching initiative

Article by Staff Writer

MENTOR MATCH is now live on IChemE Connect, making it easier than ever for IChemE members to support each other in their journey towards professional registration or with general career development.

The Mentor Match programme connects mentors and mentees based on an individual’s criteria. Once enrolled on Mentor Match, members can search for connections best suited to their needs, with key parameters including industry sector, career stage, and membership grade and professional support areas such as leadership, assertiveness, and transitioning to a new sector.

Mentors will also enjoy peer to peer support in a dedicated community on IChemE Connect where they will find all the resources they need and the opportunity to share their experiences and tips with each other.

For the first time, mentoring will be widely available for those seeking general career and development support, not just those working towards professional registration. There is also the option for personal support areas such as disability, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, and women in chemeng.

IChemE are keen to provide more student and early career mentors and are encouraging members who feel they can support others in this way to get involved.

To enrol, either as a mentor or mentee, log on to www.icheme.org/connect and click on “Mentor Match” In the top navigation bar
