Nouryon expands Kromasil facility

Article by Amanda Jasi

NOURYON is investing in its Kromasil manufacturing facility in Bohus, Sweden, to help meet increasing global demand from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries for high-performing products.

Kromasil manufactures products for food and beverage, clinical, environmental, and pharmaceutical industries, for applications ranging from laboratory analysis to industrial scale purification. Specific applications include playing a vital part in purification of insulin, as well as complex bio-pharma applications.

Nouryon expects the expansion to strengthen its global leadership position in high-performance silica.

The expansion will see the facility’s production capacity double, but Nouryon declined to disclose the current capacity of the plant.

Construction of the expansion is scheduled to begin in 2022.
