ICHEME has launched a new special interest group (SIG) for engineers involved in research and innovation.
The SIG connects IChemE members who are passionate about developing and implementing new ideas and technologies, and turning research into products and services. By bringing together academics, researchers, entrepreneurs and industrial practitioners it aims to speed up innovation.
The committee is planning to organise webinars, workshops and site visits to help the community share best practice, information on skills and funding, and support early career members.
Callum Grundy, chair of the R&I SIG, said: “Research and innovation thrive through collaboration and are essential in solving some of societies’ biggest challenges. Our SIG brings together passionate chemical engineers with an interest in exploring, testing and commercialising new technologies, products and services. If this sounds like a community you want to be a part of come and join us!”
