Wanted: contributors for Hazards process safety conference

Article by Adam Duckett

ICHEME is inviting abstract submissions for its Hazards process safety conference taking place from 4–6 November in Birmingham, UK.

IChemE is inviting contributions from both members and non-members, with the call for content closing on 23 May.

IChemE has confirmed that this year’s plenary speakers will include  Rebecca Peterson, senior principal engineer for process safety at ExxonMobil, and Gus Carroll, CEO of Empirisys. Peterson will discuss ExxonMobil’s latest advances managing major accident hazards, while Carroll will speak in his capacity as chair of the UK’s COMAH Strategic Forum.

The Hazards conference provides a platform for experts to share knowledge and practical insights on key aspects of process safety.

Eamon Chandler, chair of the conference technical committee, said: “We’re building on the success of last year’s event to drive process safety forward. Our focus is on promoting best practices, strengthening leadership’s role in hazard management, addressing the risks associated with new technologies, and fostering opportunities for learning across industries.”

IChemE members and speakers will benefit from reduced registration rates to attend the event.
