The Chemical Engineer, in association with filtration, separation, and purification specialists Pall Corporation, has produced a webinar that allows viewers to get up to speed on how best to address contamination issues in their plants.
Following the theme that stronger asset protection leads to reduced operating costs, the event featured two sector specialists detailing elements of contamination control through a series of short case studies.
Dr. Maria Anez-Lingerfelt, a senior field application specialist for the Americas at Pall Corporation joined her colleague Mohsen Salehabadi, a senior field applications specialist and subject matter expert with the organisation, to explain, using real-world examples, how contamination can quietly undermine the performance, reliability, and lifespan of critical equipment across chemical processing operations.

These risks, arising across critical equipment and processes, including catalyst beds, driers, heat exchangers, columns, solvent loops, and burners were addresses with the particular filtration and separation strategies that can tackle the root causes of contamination.

Questions answered during the hour-long session include one on the need to reduce the frequency of cleaning or swapping out inline filters, how to determine whether contamination is the root cause of reliability issues instead of a maintenance or equipment problem; and what is involved in quantifying contamination issues in a chemical plant?

TCE readers can access the on-demand version of the webinar, which was first broadcast live on Tuesday 28th October at 3:00pm GMT, via this link.
