ENGINEERING giant Siemens is set to automate its process and plant engineering capabilities through an expanded partnership with AI specialist L&T Technology Services (LTTS).
LTTS says it will deliver “simulation-driven automation” across several Siemens business areas, including automotive and transport, industrial products, and process and plant engineering.
Suprakash Chaudhuri, head of digital industries at Siemens, said: “We are delighted to welcome LTTS as our solution partner and look forward to shaping the future of digital transformation together.”
He added: “By combining deep domain expertise with cutting-edge digital solutions, we can co-create scalable, future-ready innovations that empower industries to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.”
Using LTTS’s AI expertise, Siemens will upgrade several of its key platforms, including Industrial Edge, Tecnomatix and TIA Portal.
Industrial Edge captures process data from plant equipment and machinery, helping companies optimise and maintain operations. Tecnomatix, meanwhile, is a digital manufacturing tool used to design a wide range of products – from medical devices to vehicles.
LTTS says its combined AI and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) approach will support Siemens’ digital transformation and enable “smarter decision-making across manufacturing ecosystems”.
Spun out from international engineering firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T), LTTS operates as an independent company focused on digitalisation and sustainable industrial solutions.
The company has partnered with Siemens for over a decade to digitalise the manufacturing sector using data intelligence and AI technologies.
Alind Saxena, president of Mobility & Tech at LTTS, said: “Our collaboration with Siemens underscores a shared vision of driving AI-powered innovation and operational excellence across industrial ecosystems.”
