Ineos launches new clean hydrogen business

INEOS has launched a new clean hydrogen business to develop capacity for clean hydrogen across Europe.

Ineos already produces 300,000 t/y of hydrogen as a byproduct from chemical manufacturing operations and is involved in projects that aim to use hydrogen to replace high-carbon energy, feedstocks, and fuel. Ineos also has experience in large-scale electrolysis through its subsidiary Inovyn.

The new hydrogen business will be headquartered in the UK. Its aim is to build hydrogen capacity across Ineos sites in Europe, along with partner sites where hydrogen can be used to decarbonise energy. Ineos expects to develop new partnerships and will work closely with European governments to develop the hydrogen infrastructure needed for the green economy.
