IChemE announces Congress candidates

Article by Amanda Jasi

ICHEME has announced the nominees for Congress – the Institution’s new advisory body. The body will consist of up to 40 members and will act as a sounding board and advise the board of trustees on matters of interest to IChemE and its members.

16 nominations were uncontested. These candidates will automatically take up those seats without an election. 16 seats are up for election, and nominees are invited to begin their campaigns. Seven Congress seats were left vacant and will remain as such until the next round of elections.

The voting will be carried out using Mi-Voice. Voting instructions, and papers for the relevant constituencies will be emailed to members (or posted if IChemE does not hold a valid email address). The ballot will open at 09:00 local time on 8 October and will close at 23:59 on 20 October. The results will be announced shortly after.

Congress’s first session is expected to take place by 31 October 2018.
