Elsevier launches early stage research network

ELSEVIER, the publisher of IChemE’s journals, has launched a new early stage research network dedicated to engineering, EngRN.

EngRN is part of SSRN, Elsevier’s pre-print server and paper repository, which it bought in 2016. The engineering network follows on from similar networks in life sciences and physical sciences earlier this year.

Gregg Gordon, SSRN managing director, explained that the network will allow engineers to share early stage research including preprints (non-peer-reviewed preliminary results write-ups), working paper and data, prior to publication.

“Engineers will benefit from greater collaboration, with their peers and across a variety of life, physical and social sciences, and the opportunity to share their profiles and enhance their professional reputations. SSRN has been helping to accelerate research for over twenty years, I’m delighted we can end 2017 on a high by extending this knowledge and expertise to the engineering community,” said Gordon.

The network covers both theoretical and applied research. For more information visit the SSRN website.
